Episode 3 : Mind, Body, Spirit: Overcoming Trauma with Dr. Lori Basey
Welcome to The Drumbeat of Life podcast, where your always curious host, DonJay Rice, speaks with a wide variety of servant leaders to uncover the drumbeat of their lives.
A drumbeat is what keeps someone motivated, keeps their joy alive, and refills their cup every day. Drumbeats can be found through our highest highs or our lowest lows. Through this podcast, you and I will learn how to implement these drumbeats to better our own lives and relationships.
This week’s guest is the remarkable Dr. Lori Basey. On her journey from occupational therapist to trauma-informed disaster response expert to non-profit founder and president, she’s learned so much about the resiliency of the human brain and spirit.
In this episode we discuss empathy, the role connection plays in healing, and the power of Christ to bring the most unlikely people together in mission and fellowship. Every single one of us has something valuable to offer – Dr. Lori is here to remind us of that truth.
Remember, listeners – there’s a beautiful drumbeat inside of every one of us. Let’s discover it together!
